“I have a f*cked up vulva, what do you have for that?”

Don’t give away your power.

When you struggle with pain or a chronic condition you just want someone to help you, and it’s so easy to give away your power to someone else, a doctor, or any health professional really.
But you must not forget that you have the power to decide over your own body, don’t give it away.

I get so many messages from you ladies terrified about what’s happening to your body, which I am too. You are terrified about the fact that the only thing they prescribed you was a steroid cream that has the same side effects as the symptoms of Lichen Sclerosus. But this very cream is also the only thing that has been proven, by science, to be effective in minimizing the risk of scarring and vulvar cancer. And sadly, this is the society we are living in, because there isn’t enough research done on this very topic.

Don’t stop using the cream. You can decide how much you want to use it, because you know your body best. And sometimes the cream burns, and sometimes it doesn’t. What you can also do is to not hand your power over to someone else. You know your body best, and if you need a second opinion, go get it! If you need to find something that resonates more with you than the information the doctor is giving you, go find it! Head on down to your health food store and just be like “I have a fucked up vulva, what do you have for that?” Something with Vitamin E maybe? Something with an oil base? There are so many natural creams and ointments out there that might be the help you need to minmize pain, discomfort, itching, and keep it moist (YES THAT WORD WAS USED). But don’t stop using the steroid cream – because of what actual science is telling us.

One thing that I have found works for me:
10 drops of Copaiba
8 drops of Frankincense
Topped up with either jojoba oil or fractionated coconut oils – or both!
In a 15 mL bottle with a dropper top.

 

Copaiba: Anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-microbial.
